Our Program
Mondays from 5pm-9pm, Wednesdays from 1pm-6pm
July & August
Teens sail together on Mondays or Wednesdays for 10 weeks in the summer. Part of each sailing day is classroom work where teens are taught the basics of sailing. Lessons learned in the classroom are immediately put into practice on the water. A point system is in place to encourage participation, homework completion and a healthy competitive spirit. Teens have the opportunity to ascend through three levels of nautical expertise. At the end of the summer, those with the most points will have an opportunity to go on an overnight sailing trip.

Our Goals
Aesthetic relief - Our goal is to get the kids off the hot
steamy cement-saturated streets for a few hours a week and into the gloriously
beautiful waterways of Jersey City. We don't need to send them off to the mountains
or ship them to a far away camp when the best playground available is just a
few feet away!
Team work skills - Sailing is a team sport and there is nothing like the urgency
of being on a wind powered boat which depends on coordinated effort to forge
instant and valuable teamwork opportunities.
Identity markers - Our goal is to set the kids up to succeed
by creating small achievable steps of accomplishment which give them a sense
of pride and identity.
Ability to sail - Our goal is to teach kids a skill that will
open doors for them. The ability to sail is its own reward, but it also provides
potential networks and it opens the kid's minds to worlds beyond the one in which
they live just a few miles away.
